Here are some things to consider when choosing the right physical fitness guru for you. These will help to ease your mind as you trust someone else to educate and guide you on how to transform your body and mind:
Do your research.
Look for reviews, you can even ask people they've worked with. Are they certified? What is their experience, how long have they been doing this?
Know your body.
What are you trying to achieve? Do you want to lose weight, be flexible, be strong and toned, recover from an injury? Find out because different trainers can help you achieve different results.
Make sure you feel comfortable.
Look for someone who listens and is humble, someone who doesn't disrespect you and/or others in the industry. If they are condescending, you probably won't be able to work with them.
Trust is important.
Make sure you build trust so you feel safe. Will they tell you too much about their previous clients, e.g. show you photos with faces, etc.? Will they really be there for you?
It's also important that they are non-judgmental.
If you're afraid to tell them the truth about what you ate for fear of being judged, then you're probably dealing with the wrong person.
Time.
Don't buy into the hype of quick fixes like losing 20kg in 2 days. Easy come, easy go. It takes time to rebuild and shape your body, whether you're losing or gaining weight, building muscle, healing and so on. So be patient with yourself and work with someone who understands.
